Our Family Birth Center is designed to allow you and your family to experience the birth of your baby in comfortable surroundings. We are committed to promoting a family-centered environment that meets and exceeds your expectations by identifying and fulfilling your educational, physical, psychological and cultural needs.
The Birth Center consists of three main areas:
: Labor, delivery and recovery (LDR) - If your delivery proceeds without any complications, you will go through labor, delivery and recovery in one of our LDR suites. Each suite features a multi-position birthing bed so you may remain in one room for your delivery; a private bathroom with a shower; a state-of-the-art fetal monitoring system; and any equipment needed to provide optimum care for you and your baby.
If you need to deliver your baby by Cesarean-section, you will give birth in a suite equipped and designed specifically for surgical deliveries.
: Family-centered rooms - After you have recovered, you will be moved to family-centered care, located on either the first or second floors of the hospital. Each room has a private bathroom, cable television and a telephone. We want your birth experience to meet your expectations. As a result, you may keep your well infant with you as much as you'd like, or we have a fully staffed nursery for those few times you would like your baby in the nursery. The same nurse will care for you and your baby, and will answer any questions you may have about yourself or your infant. Patients are encouraged to keep their babies with them as much as possible, particularly if you plan to breast feed.

: The nursery - Our nursery is fully staffed for infants requiring extra care or monitoring, as well as an observation area for well newborns when mothers want to have their infants in the nursery for short periods of time. Both are staffed with highly skilled nurses with expertise in caring for newborns. Regardless of where your newborn is, they will be cared for by our dedicated staff.
