Volunteer Opportunities
Who are our volunteers?
Volunteers are people who give of their time, without expectation of pay, to assist with patient and nonpatient care in medical facilities. Our volunteers work at Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, and within our Urgent Care centers in Ahwatukee, Gilbert and Queen Creek. All volunteer efforts add to the comfort and satisfaction of patients, staff and visitors. Most volunteers work four hours each week. Positions are available in the morning, afternoon, evening - seven days a week. We will do our best to work with you to develop a convenient schedule that will meet your needs.
What are the requirements?
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Six month commitment
- Complete an application
- One-on-one interview
- Background check (18 years and older)
- Purchase a $20 tax-deductible volunteer uniform
- TB skin test (provided by hospital)

How can I become a volunteer?
Adults over the age of 18 may complete an application and return it by mail. New volunteers must attend a two-part orientation program and have a one-on-one interview with a staff member. A health screening and background check are also required.

Volunteens (high school students between the ages of 14 - 18 years)
We are no longer accepting applications for new Volunteen applicants. We will begin accepting applications again in March 2009 for our Summer Volunteen Program. Applications will be available online.
