Flu Visitation Restrictions

Effective Monday, February 15, 2010

The spread of the Novel H1N1 flu virus has dramatically decreased in our community. Children will be permitted to visit patients in the hospital, except in our Family Birth Center due to Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

In addition, please do not visit the hospital if you have any flu symptoms, including a fever over 100 degrees, cough, sore throat, runny nose, rash or diarrhea, or if you have recently been exposed to someone with symptoms.

For additional information about the Novel H1N1 flu virus (Swine Flu), please visit the Maricopa County Department of Health or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Our goal is to keep patients, visitors and our staff as healthy as possible. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment.

We understand that you want to be able to visit your loved ones when it's convenient for you. Therefore, the hospital is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

However, for privacy reasons, the Intensive Care Unit does close during change of shift from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please speak with your nurse about any other special needs.

For more information, please call 480.728.3000.
