The Medical Department, a unit with 30 private rooms, provides services and care for inpatients in the acute stage of suspected or known physiological compromise.

Services include diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Nursing care includes the safe and proficient delivery of treatment necessary to provide for the physical and emotional needs of the patient, and the promotion and maintenance of their health.

The process encompasses patient assessment; nursing diagnosis, interventions and outcome identification; and the planning implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The patient's physiological, psychological, educational and social needs are incorporated as an integral part of their care.
