Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive program of medical evaluation, prescribed exercise, cardiac risk factor modification, education and counseling designed to help facilitate a safe, successful recovery for those with heart disease, as well as those who are at high-risk of developing heart disease.

Our program is divided into three phases:

  •
Phase I is lifestyle awareness. This phase, which begins while you're in the hospital, consists of a progressive, low-level exercise activity. Our team works with you to help you through the emotional and physical aspect of heart disease, and addresses lifestyle changes that are essential to helping you lead an active, healthy life.
  • Phase II is outpatient rehabilitation. During this phase, you will come to the hospital three times a week for a one-hour, monitored exercise program designed specifically for you. Included in these sessions area weekly group education classes to provide you and your family with information on heart disease and the recovery process.
  • Phase III provides you with continued guidance and support for the progress you achieved during Phase II. With a doctor's referral, those who are at a high risk of developing heart disease have the opportunity to participate a well.
